Ethiopia - Yirgacheffe Wuri 'Washed'
“Wuri” is the Gedio word for “high altitude.” Altitude is considered to be one of the greatest indicators of quality and flavor of coffee. A higher altitude coffee shrub works hard to give nutrients to its beloved fruit, giving it a complexity and nuance rarely found at lower elevations. Sixteen villages make up the Gedeb district this coffee comes from. Since 2017, the Ethiopian government has relaxed regulations on export, allowing individual washing stations to export their coffee. The result is excellent transparency and traceability. The washed processing in this coffee means a much brighter and more floral cup than its natural counterpart.
