Ethiopia - Yirgacheffe Wuri 'Natural'
“Wuri” is the Gedio word for “high altitude.” Altitude is considered to be one of the greatest indicators of coffee quality and flavor. A higher altitude coffee shrub works hard to give nutrients to its beloved fruit, resulting in a complexity and nuance rarely found at lower elevations. Sixteen villages make up the Gedeb district where this coffee comes from. Since 2017, the Ethiopian government has relaxed regulations on export to allow individual washing stations to export their coffee. This has resulted in excellent transparency and traceability. The natural processing of this coffee lends deep, sweet, jammy flavors to the cup.
